International students are allowed to live, work and study temporarily in Australia after your completion of studies. There are 2 streams of this visa:
Graduate Work Stream
This applies to students who has achieved qualifications according to Skilled Occupation List (SOL) The visa under this stream can be granted for a stay of 18 months in Australia.
Post-Study Work Stream
This stream is only available to students who applied for, and were granted their first students’ visa after 5h November 2011. Students, regardless of their study, are able to apply for this visa, and will be granted for the stay up to 4 years depending on their qualifications.
One of the condition for the Visa to be granted is that you (main applicant) and other dependent MUST be in Australia when applying as well as when the Visa is granted.
